Sunsetting @PlayMightyHero is bittersweet. I know it’s the right thing to do, but it feels bad. As Co-Founder, and Head of Art at the time, I poured my heart into MAH alongside an incredible team. I genuinely believe MAH still stands as one of the most fun and innovative Web3 games out there, and the passion from our community proved we weren’t alone in that belief.

We all thought browser would be easy, but we learnt the hard way that building a real-time, precision multiplayer 3D game on this platform was not a walk in the park. Browsers are incredibly fragmented, have the most random resolutions, rendering engines, they’re single threaded, limited in available memory, and super prone to disconnections as your client freezes the moments your tab is not “active” anymore.
As browsers fight you every step of the way when you try to push the limits, MAH was way harder to ship than anyone expected, but we pulled it off, beat our own bar and were rewarded by an incredibly accessible, fast loading and fun experience for everyone to enjoy.

Now, as @simon_davis mentioned, while the Web2 to Web3 gaming crossover we hoped for hasn’t arrived yet, the explosive growth we’re seeing with @playgoatgaming and @AgentAmyDotAI shows us where our focus needs to be.
MAH isn’t disappearing, the IP lives, and it could show up somewhere new, maybe sooner than anyone expects.
I am deeply grateful for everyone who built and played alongside us – onward and forward now!
