On my first year in university, I was interviewed for an Adobe Flash Developer job in 2009. The interviewer asked about my pet projects (great question!) and I mentioned a game a was prototyping. He left the room and brought his boss who was doing investments in games.
The next two years I was technically the full-time CEO/CTO of a small (13ppl eventually) gamedev studio in parallel to studying, up until the financial crisis in Russia 😅
For a web browser game in 2009-2010 we had it all: multiplayer, real-time(!) 3d @ 30fps, beautiful graphics, and it was actually fun to play, according to some loyal beta users 😊
