I recently got asked whether Plaidia will be a Roblox alternative and I thought I’d share my answer here:
Plaidia is a UGC gaming platform, similar to Roblox, and it can be used as an alternative. However, the core of the platform is different from Roblox and it follows a different scope.
First, Plaidia runs on the web and supports both 2D and 3D games, as well as offline single-player and multiplayer experiences. Even though players have a main character, creators can also build games without a character, such as party games.
Another important point is openness. You will be able to embed your games, for example, on your own website and brand them accordingly.
Besides that, the platform itself will include social features such as a posting feed, game jams, and much more.
Plaidia also aims to make game creation accessible to everyone through a simple world builder. This lowers the barrier to entry for game development and helps inspire beginners and mobile users to get started.
Plaidia focuses on what users want and will implement features that are requested, not forced upon them, like some other platforms did recently.
And there is much more to come.
So yes, Plaidia is a UGC creation platform, but it has many unique and different aspects while still being able to be seen as an alternative to Roblox.
