As someone who doesn’t like the NSMB games:
-They brought the sidescroller platformers to 3D graphics.
-Mega/Mini Mushrooms.
-Introduced secret exits.
-Introduced Dry Bowser.
-Had multiplayer beyond “Single-player, but people take turns when they die.”
